Uganda: Chimpanzees and gorillas are tracked year-round; Jun–Sep and Dec–Feb are the drier peaks, Mar–May and Oct–Nov are emerald, quiet and easier to book. Rwanda: Gorilla trekking runs all year; Jun–Sep and Dec–Feb are drier and easier underfoot, while Mar–May and Oct–Nov are lush, quieter and easier for permits. Congo: Gorilla and forest trekking is best in the drier Jun–Sep and Dec–Feb; Mar–May and Oct–Nov are wetter but quieter. How do flights and private transfers link Uganda, Rwanda and the DRC on Primate Path?

Primate Path is moved by us door to door, from your arrival in Entebbe to the final departure, so you do not queue, reroute or carry your own logistics. Uganda: light aircraft or long private drives link Entebbe with Bwindi and Kibale. Rwanda: Kigali to the volcanoes is about a two-hour private drive, or a short helicopter transfer. The DRC: the crossing from Rwanda to Goma and onward transfers are arranged privately, with park-authority escorts. Where light aircraft are used, soft-sided bags of roughly 15 to 20 kg are standard, and we arrange luggage storage or an extra seat for camera gear.
